Dungeon Shapest, plans for the future
This game won a game jam, that's crazy!
Anyway, ignoring that fact, I've taken quite a liking to this game, and have decided to expand upon it with new features, revamps and visual improvements.
One small issue:
I'm currently working on a different project.
But in the best case scenario that i don't abandon the game completely here are some of the new things i want to add.
1.- Advanced dungeon building
The rooms will no longer stay the same, there will be pathways, empty rooms, large rooms. And when these rooms are combined with monster rooms, they will become huge or narrow battle areas the hero has to fight in.
2.- Movement and ai upgrades
With the brand new room sizes, the hero's movement will become more dynamic switching to a grid based movement system where he will be able to choose who to fight with and how to fight it, or just run away.
Just like the hero, enemies will also move more dynamically as well as patrol in close vicinity of their spawn, and maybe even, if they want to, chase after the hero.
3.- Companions
Now that there's a way for enemies to swarm the hero, he needs backup.
And so there shall be a party system of companions the hero can recruit along the way.
With the added party intelligence which will control the hero's and monster party decision making
4. - Stats, personalities and classes
More in depth stats and changes, for example new stats like sight, which will affect the characters visibility range.
Personalities, which will affect how the hero's party explores your dungeon, for the better or worse.
Classes, like scout, priest, or wizard, which will bring benefits for certain situations inside the dungeon.
5. - World map
A map the hero shall explore, while you make dungeons for specific locations and try to lead the hero to those you want him to go towards.
And even if the hero dies, your journey will continue, with the next hero and your progress intact.
6. - Hero's rivals
There will also be other parties who want to slay the demon lord, so in short, you will need be smarter and not make the dungeons too easy.
Or do the opposite and make either impossible dungeons or very easy ones.
This will bring a little more tactic to the game.
And a bunch of other things i shall not disclose this time around!
